So, how about a little throw back? Let’s play rewind to the holiday season, the season when calories didn’t really matter (right?) The season of being extra..LOL Well, this post is influenced by your insta DMs guys as I shared some of Christmas lunch menu and you my beautiful people asked why I shouldn’t do a full post of my menu. Now, here it is today sharing about my Christmas and a little recap on what I serve for Christmas Lunch.
On the Christmas that was, I started my day around 5:30 am straight to church. I knew the kitchen was waiting for me back home so as everybody else was asleep my sister and I opted for the morning mass and by 7:30 am we were back home screaming ‘Merry Christmas’ from a distance even before we made our entrance home. Later my family also went to church and I knew by 11am they will be back home and I never wanted to keep them waiting.
To begin with I set up a table using some flowers from my garden, I wanted something simple but inviting.
I created my menu using some Christmas song Titles, I found it cool and fun and everybody loved it.
My plan was to to print it out but I had power cut just before I did it hence I ended up making some cards on each menu which at the end turned to be even a better idea.
Here is the menu;
Herbs cooked pasta, steamed veggies with extra mayo topping.
Baby it’s Cold Outside
Mushroom soup & peas.
Colors of Christmas
Fried Vegetable Coconut rice.
Rosemary & Garlic potato wedges.
Oh Christmas Tree
Fresh & Crunchy Tropical salad.
Little Drummer Boy
Grilled paprika chicken drums.
Away in a manger
Red wine roasted beef.
I’ll be home for Christmas
Tamarind Mishkaki & Mzuzu Bbq.
All I want for Christmas
Christmas Fruit cake.
Joy to the world
Fruit Bbq/ fruits in a cup
Scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream
I too prepared some mashed potatoes (not pictured) just because they are dad’s favorite, and it was the last minute idea since I had an extra time.
Apart from wine and Beers this home made juice was ice on ice, they loved it. I always enjoy seeing others enjoy most.
This menu does not necessarily have to be for a special occasion, you may decide to dedicate a time out of your busy schedule and spoil yourself and loved ones with it.
Is there any thing from this menu that you would love me to make a proper post on how to prepare it? Let me know in the comment box.
